2010-2011 NFC Championship Odds & Predictions
The NFL preseason is well underway now and we’re getting closer to the start of the regular season, which means that you need to make your NFL futures wagers before it’s too late. The NFC is going to be very competitive this season and there are several teams that have a great chance at winning the conference. There shouldn’t be too many surprises this season in the NFC, as the other teams haven’t overtaken the best teams in the conference yet.

Last season the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints played in the NFC Championship Game and the Saints ended up winning by a score of 31-28 in overtime. The Vikings looked like they might have a chance to score in the final minutes of the game, but Favre was intercepted and it forced the game into overtime. New Orleans won the coin toss and never looked back, as they managed to kick a field goal with less than 5 minutes left in OT.
I definitely think there is going to be at least one different team in the NFC Championship Game this season. Below are the three teams that I’m going to be betting on to win the NFC this season, including one sleeper team.
New Orleans Saints
· New Orleans Saints (+350) are one of the favorites to win the NFC Championship and for good reason. The Saints won the Superbowl last season and most of the players will be returning. A couple of players that will be missed in New Orleans this season are RB Mike Bell and OT Jamaal Brown. The stars on the team will all be returning though, including QB Drew Brees, RB Reggie Bush and WR Marques Colston. New Orleans went 13-3 last season and I think they should win at least 11-12 games this year, which should put them in the hunt to win the NFC Championship.
Green Bay Packers
· My favorite team to win the NFC this season are the Green Bay Packers (+350). Aaron Rodgers has done an amazing job after taking over at QB when Favre left the city. Last season the Packers went 11-5 and made it to the wild card game where they lost to the Arizona Cardinals 51-45. The defense was great all last season, as Charles Woodson led the talented group of defenders, but they collapsed in the playoffs. We already know the defense can match-up against any team in the NFL, but the offense needs to be a bit more productive if they want to make a playoff run. QB Rodgers, RB Grant, WR Driver and WR Jennings will all need to have a great season.
Atlanta Falcons
· Atlanta Falcons (+1000) went 9-7 last season, which wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs. This season I expect the young Falcons team to have more chemistry on offense and defense. QB Matt Ryan has proven to be a very reliable QB and one day could become one of the best in the league. WR’s Roddy White and Michael Jenkins will need to become consistent targets for Ryan this season. The Falcons running game was awesome last season, as they ranked 13th in the league with 104 yards rushing average per game. The defense won a lot of games for the Falcons last season as well and they should be able to steal a couple more this season. If you’re looking for a sleeper in the NFC then I think it has to be the Atlanta Falcons.
