Jets vs. Steelers Moneyline Prediction
Our pick: Take the Steelers over the Jets at -3.5 (-105) at Sportsbook.com
The Jets eeked out a victory against the Steelers in Week 15, but I wouldn’t put too much stock in that game. The Steelers offense beat the Jets offense by a hundred yards and the Steelers defense kept the Jets 50 yards below their season average. By the numbers alone, you would have guessed the Steelers won that matchup. Instead, the Jets special teams kept their hopes alive and helped them hang on to a tough victory.
This time around, we can expect to see the Steelers in better form, both in terms of motivation and injuries. Polamalu is back in action this time around after missing the last meeting. We also can’t pin any hopes on Roethlisberger choking in the red zone in consecutive plays this time around.
The Jets are a rough and tough team, but I don’t think they’ll be able to pull off a repeat in Steelers territory. The Steelers simply will not let the Jets pull off a repeat upset at home. The Steelers will also have a more complete starting lineup than they did the last time around. We can expect to see more of the same as last game: more offensive yards for the Steelers and a tight defense. Except this time, the Steelers will come home with the W by a touchdown.
